Competition Rules

Please read all rules carefully before participating. By submitting an entry, you agree to comply with all of the following.

📋

Plagiarism Results in a Permanent Ban

All submissions must be entirely your own original work. Copying, paraphrasing, or reproducing another person's writing — whether published or unpublished — without explicit credit constitutes plagiarism. Any submission confirmed to contain plagiarism will result in the immediate and permanent banning of the responsible account. The account will be deleted along with all associated submissions, with no right of appeal.

🚫

AI-Generated Content Results in a Permanent Ban

Project Infinity BP is a human-only creative writing competition. The use of generative artificial intelligence (including tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, or any similar tool) in any part of your submission is strictly prohibited. Any submission confirmed to contain AI-generated content will result in the immediate and permanent banning of the responsible account. The account will be deleted along with all associated submissions, with no right of appeal.

🛡️

Malicious Files Result in an Immediate Permanent Ban

All uploaded files are automatically scanned for viruses, malware, and malicious scripts. Any file found to contain malicious content is immediately and permanently removed from the submission pool. The account responsible for the upload will be permanently banned without appeal. Do not upload any file containing executable code, macros, or embedded scripts.

01

Free & Open Entry

Project Infinity BP is entirely free to enter. No application is required. Any person may sign up and/or log in to the website to compete at any time before the submission deadline.

02

Account Required

A registered account is required to submit an entry. Creating an account is free and takes only a moment. You must provide a display name when registering (no need real name). Accounts without a name will not be accepted. You may use your account across all future seasons.

03

One Prompt Per Season

Each competition is centred on a single creative writing prompt selected by the host. Participants must respond to this exact prompt within the 40-day window.

04

File Format & Size

Submissions must be uploaded as a Microsoft Word Document (.docx) or PDF (.pdf). No other formats will be accepted. Files must not exceed 20MB in size.

05

One File Per Submission

Only one file may be uploaded per submission. Your first submission may be uploaded at any time before the deadline. Resubmissions are permitted once every 24 hours — each resubmission permanently deletes your previous file. Only the most recent submission at the time of the deadline will be graded.

06

Submission Deadline

The submission window is strictly 40 days from the official competition start date. The countdown timer displayed on the website reflects the exact time remaining.

07

Original Work Only

All submissions must be entirely original and composed by the participant. Plagiarism of any kind is strictly prohibited and will result in the immediate and permanent banning of the responsible account. The account will be deleted along with all associated submissions, with no right of appeal.

08

No AI-Generated Content

The use of generative artificial intelligence in any part of a submission is strictly prohibited and will result in the immediate and permanent banning of the responsible account. The account will be deleted along with all associated submissions, with no right of appeal. All submissions are manually reviewed by a co-host for AI-generated content after the deadline closes. Judging is conducted entirely by human judges.

09

No Malicious Files

Files submitted must not contain viruses, malware, executable scripts, macros, or any other malicious content. All uploaded files are automatically scanned. Any submission found to contain malicious content will be immediately removed, and the uploading account will be permanently banned.

10

Ownership of Submissions

All submissions remain the intellectual property of their respective authors. The competition does not claim ownership over any submitted work.

11

Permission for Exemplar Page

The winning submission from each season may be featured in the Exemplar Page. The author of any winning submission has the right to disable public display of their work at any time.

12

Privacy of Feedback

Judge feedback documents are strictly private. Only the host, the assigned judge, and the individual participant may access their feedback.

13

Integrity Review Before Judging

After the submission deadline, a co-host will manually review every submission for plagiarism and AI-generated content before judges are given access. Any submission flagged during this review will be noted, and the judge will be informed of the concern prior to grading.

14

Human Judging

All judging is conducted by human judges. Generative AI will not be used in the evaluation of any submission. Judges are only granted access to submissions after the co-host integrity review is complete.
